What This Is

The middle step that makes install day possible

A designer's project does not arrive all at once. Custom and irreplaceable furniture, lighting, and art land at our warehouse over weeks, from a dozen or more vendors, against a build schedule that keeps shifting. Receiving, storage, and staging are what happen in between.

Every piece is checked in, numbered, photographed, and held on your project's record until you are ready. When you call the install date, we pull the staged pieces and deliver them together. No freight piling up at the jobsite, and no scramble over what landed and what is still outstanding.

How It Works

From the vendor's dock to your install date

Three stages, documented at every step, so the project is organized before a single piece reaches the residence.

1

Receiving & inspection

Every shipment is checked against the manifest and photographed before it is opened. We inspect each piece within 48 to 72 hours and send an itemized report, with any damage flagged the same day, long before install.

2

Numbered & photographed

Each piece gets a Hercules barcode and condition photos from every angle, then lands on your live project record. Log in any time to see what has arrived, what is in transit, and where each piece sits.

3

Secure storage

Inspected pieces are stored by project, never co-mingled, with the first 30 days free. When you set the install date, we load our own trucks and deliver the whole project at once.

Why It Matters

Most warehouses count the boxes. We track the pieces.

When furniture sits in storage for weeks against a moving install date, you need to know exactly what arrived and what shape it's in.

On a multi-million-dollar residence full of custom, one-of-a-kind pieces, a piece count is not enough. The number on every piece and the photos on every record are what keep a long, phased project from turning into a guessing game at install, without driving to a warehouse or waiting on a phone call.

What Clients Say

What clients say about our receiving and storage

★★★★★

I chose Hercules to receive furniture that I ordered from Bernhardt for my personal use. I have been in the furniture business in several capacities for the last 30 years. The Hercules team was the most professional, from notification of receipt of my sofa to delivery. Their system is spotless, their customer service excellent and their delivery team as good. Thank you, I highly recommend Hercules Delivery.

FAQ

Questions designers ask about receiving and storage

What does receiving cost?
A minimum inspection fee of $15 per piece applies, and it can vary with the size and weight of the item, for example crated goods. You get an itemized inventory after inspection so you can see exactly what was received.
How long can you store my project's pieces?
Short-term between phases or long-term across a full build, whatever the project needs. Established clients get their first 30 days of storage free. After that, storage is billed at the start of each month, and long-term storage requires a valid authorized credit card on file.
Can you receive from any vendor, freight forwarder, or dock?
Yes. Pieces can ship to us directly from the manufacturer, a freight forwarder, or a vendor's warehouse. We also handle third-party dock pickups, priced by the number of items, their size, and the equipment needed. Send us the details for a quote.
A piece arrived damaged from the freight carrier. What happens?
We document the condition at receiving with photos and an inspection note, hold the piece, and send you the report the same day. You decide from there: file the claim with the vendor or carrier, request a replacement, or have us return it. You will not discover the damage at install.
How do I see what's in storage for my project?
You get a login to our inventory portal. It is live, so every photo, status change, and storage move updates in real time. If you run several projects with us, each one keeps its own record, separate from the others.
Are you actually in South Florida?
Yes. We run our own warehouse in Miami, minutes from the Design District, and we have been family-owned since 1984.
